The Husband found an amazing hotel deal, and Thing #1 is just at the age where he is in love with everything, from the pool at the hotel to the TV in the room. We went to the Smithsonian, where he got to see dinosaur fossils in real life. We left with these:
He said that they were his favorite part of the trip -- the toys, not the actual fossils! That night we went to swim in the hotel pool, and there were milk and cookies waiting for the kids when we got back to the room. The next day, after watching Tom and Jerry on the hotel TV and giving Thing #2 a nap because he awoke at 4:50, we went to the Zoo! This is where we got to see the Orangutans on the O-line.
Towards the end of the day, we were headed into the reptile building and Thing #1 started shaking his arms, saying"I am just so excited, Mommy!" We managed to keep both of the exhausted Things awake long enough to get in the car so they could fall asleep on the way home. Another amazing trip!
