We went to this place, because Jenn said it was awesome, and as usual, she was right. Thing #1 walked all the way up the hill. The Husband carried Thing #2 and I carried the saw and the tree cart. We ended up with an 8-foot tall Frasier Fur. The Husband cut it down and we all hauled ourselves (and the tree, of course) back to the store where Thing #1 was delighted with a life-size singing Santa statue and some popcorn. Thing #2 and The Husband went back to car to clean up after Thing #2 threw up somewhere between the woods and the tree shaking. Hey, it isn't all Norman Rockwell over here, but we will take what we can get. Both the kids were happy to be out and about and Thing #1 loved the idea of picking his tree out of the woods. He also picked out his first ornament.
We loaded the tree on top of the car (which if you know The Husband, you know that this was much more involved than I care to share here), and drove home feeling all cheerful and christmas-y. The tree smells amazing and it was a pretty amazing day. I love this time of year.
