A Relaxing Weekend

Instead of taking the kids to D.C. for a few days with The Husband, we decided that we were all a little exhausted and that it would be better if The Husband went (for work) and I stayed at home, by myself but with the kids, because, you know, that would be much easier! Actually, it wasn't bad at all. They were a lot of fun.

Thing #2 slept pretty good and generally was his busy little self. He discovered our little trampoline and while he has not yet mastered the art of jumping, he has a lot of fun walking around in circles until he falls down on his bum, then giggles.

Thing #1 accomplished a lot. He went pee by himself. He attempted to wipe his own bum. I know, too much information, but it was really cute. I walked in to check on him and there was a stream of toilet paper unwound, with the tiniest bit of it in his hand. Neither the hand nor the toilet paper got anywhere close to where they needed to be. After a little negotiation, he let me "help". But the biggest accomplishment of all was that he ate an entire ham and cheese sandwich. I tried not to make a big deal about it while he was munching away (eating it as an actual sandwich, rather than reducing it to its individual parts). But when he finished we were both so pleased with him, he wanted to call his daddy to tell him all about it.

With little kids around, life is so much more complicated and simple at the same time.
