We speak two languages in our house; English and Toddlerspeak. Most of the time we can understand each other when speaking English, although I still have a hard time understanding the Husband, especially when I am not really listening. Toddlerspeak, on the other hand, is a language only fully knowable to Thing #1. There are many idiosyncracies with it but here are a few of my favorite translations.
poo-wee: smelly
Mmm-ah: monkey
Aingh Aingh: eat
Free, four: Many
No free four: one
No eye: Dark
Thing #1 combines these phrases with simple words constantly throughout the day. No wonder I am always tired!
**Update: Thing #1 can now say monkey, but I really miss his Mmm-ah.
