Whoa

The summer has come and gone, but what an amazing summer it was.  Here is a brief recap in no particular order, which completely offends my historical sensibilities.

We visited my family in New England
Thing #2 steering, for real.  My brother is totally calm, and it is his boat.

Getting ready to go on the boat.  I had been looking forward to this for years!

The beach!

Visited The Husband's family in Ireland where the Uncles got married.  Woo hoo!

The big day!

Getting buried in the sand for the first time.  That is what Uncles are for!

A big castle, with cannons, and armor, and a perfect door for little boys.

Before we got on the real thing to come home.
Went to the local amusement park

You really need the video to appreciate the glee!

Somewhere in the middle of all of this, our poor dog, Sam the Man, up and died on us

Sam in his younger years.

Thing #1 learned to ride his bike

First ride with Dad

Thing #1 learned to swim

The beginning of July

Thing #2 learned to swim

The beginning of August

Thing #3 learned to sit, crawl, stand and eat!

Wow, she is cute.

We moved
The last day in our old house, and all the toys were packed up.

All three Things settled in quickly

And now the water is too cold at the pool, we are settling into our new house, the Cousin is arriving to start her senior year, and Thing #1 starts Kindergarten on wednesday.  Yep, I just threw that into casual conversation because that is what we do around here.  Even though every few seconds I want to shout to anyone who will listen "Oh my God, my kid is going to kindergarten!" or something along those lines.  I just want to hug him and kiss him and never let him go, but then that would be selfish, because he is ready.  He is so ready and so excited that it is hard not to be excited for him.  But still.  Kindergarten, really?

Kindergarten! Really! And of course your brother's not worried, Thing #2 looks like he absolutely knows what he's doing.
